That's definitely some of the best BBQ I ever had

What I would give to have my old radio back that I traded for a mobile and a handheld. I bought a Yaesu 757 GX II for $200 I believe, super cheap perfect radio. Although I couldn't talk on the ham channels, I really enjoyed listening to it, especially the skip coming out of other countries. But I really loved the fact that I could tune into the CB channels and sidebands. But can't change the past. I wound up selling the mobile and handheld when I needed the money for bills. Now I have a Baofeng BF-F9 V2+ dual band handheld that I carry around and listen to local repeaters on. It's actually quite a good little radio if someone has never heard of them or checked them out. I love them because you can get on FRS and GMRS channels with them, and they are 8 watts. Anyways, good stuff. And CB will never die.

That's right. I love both. If conditions are good on 20 or 40 or 10 meters, I'll be monitoring them while I'm driving but if they aren't, I'm on 19 most of the time. I had multiple cb's in my truck for a couple of years before I got my ham license. I had a yaseu for a while before I had my license like you just to listen to all the repeaters. I used to have a ton of them saved in my radio.

Yeah I have heard plenty of truck washes advertising and most of them will not shut the hell up. I don't mind a diner or something if I'm in the mood for something to eat anyway... but truck washes? Come on... Especially when they tie up the channel to the point that no one else can transmit. Even worse is the moron in Cedar Rapids tying up channel 19 with their gospel radio show...

I would never patronize any business that is illegally tying up the CB frequencies, especially 19. They are disgusting cheapskates who won't pay to advertise properly.
Call_Me_The_Breeze Thanks this. -
Driver, I gave up the CB radio a long time ago when respect went out the window. Nobody monitors them anymore like they used to and when they talk on them it's usually a bunch of BS anyway. You're right, there's a lot of things you're supposed to do and not supposed to do but people are into themselves these days; Failing to stop when you're backing up, going in to grab lunch while you are parked at the fuel island or in the spot in front, jumping out in front of other trucks, signaling with high beams and so on and so forth. I drive new trucks that are piggybacked and most of them have Bluetooth or at least an aux jack. This opens the door to much if you have a smart phone.Call_Me_The_Breeze Thanks this.
