I am curious what a company can deduct from the gross a truck makes on any particular load, if the driver makes a certain percentage of what the truck makes on say an oversize load the company takes things out of the rate before the drivers percentage.... in this case, permits (they claim to have purchased but never sent to the driver) fuel, and expenses all before they do the drivers %. Is this legal?

Why don't you fill in the details instead of making us all guess?

Are you the driver or an owner leased to a carrier or what?

Don't know if it's legal or not. I'm a company driver paid by percentage. Nothing gets deducted from the gross before I'm paid.

read your contract. ANYTHING can be in the contract. Lawyers can answer legal questions, everyone else has a guess about the law.
