Ok, we all know to flash our headlights when someone passes us and it's safe to merge back in. And we all know to flash our hazzards/lights when we pass someone to say "Thank You". How do you tell a driver that you see something that is wrong and he/she needs to pull over? I've tried twice on two seperate occasions to tell the other driver with no luck. Any suggestions?

I had this instance come up for me about a month ago. I was in Alaska where hardly anyone runs a vhf radio and I didn't have a cb so I couldn't talk to the guy I was behind who had a stuck on brake that was #### near on fire. I just flashed my hi-beams until he stopped. He was great full and I stuck around and helped him get rolling again.

if its night time, as i am pulling up side by side, i turn on my dome light and i use my thumb and using a "backward motion" like "hey something back there is wrong"...

although i must also say, i have had an ignorant arse or two laugh at me when i did this......

but i got the last laugh when thier tire blew or they finally found out somehow, something was wrong, all the while i am pulling away from them........

if its daylite, i do the same "thumb motion"....

if its something in front of their rig....i just use my "Pointing finger" and motion towards the front of the truck.

an "intuitive" driver will wave a thank you, nod his head, maybe turn on his cb (if he has one), and then of course he will pull over and check his truck out.

just remember, there ARE ignoramuses out there........as well as NON English speaking drivers...

This is why it is so important to have a CB. I have been reading so many posts lately from newbies that don't have CB's. It could save your life one day!

It's tricky. Not only do you have the idiots out there you have the professionals that what to steel your truck and it's load. I watch the mirrors and will slow way down but will never pull over where it's dark and vacate.
