If he is unemployed, underemployed WIOA offers a grant to cover the cost for ANY TRADESCHOOL, not just truck driving.if he's mildly interested in trucking, he should not get into trucking.

If he can’t find something in that area, he’s not looking very hard. That is one of the easiest parts of Michigan to become employed as a truck driver. However, he needs to stick with looking at one of the well-known companies/megas and avoid any of the immigrant-owned companies, at all costs. There are a bunch of them scattered between Chicago and Detroit and all are known to scam drivers. It’s easy enough to research ownership, by looking up their DOT/MC numbers.

The WIOA is not an option for him, too much steps involved so getting with a company that'll train him is his last option.

@Chinatown Hey, I have a question, if you get your permit from your state and go Training for a CDL with a company in another state, how will that work? Will you have to get the CDL permit again for that state or can you still get the CDL with your home sate CDL permit?
