Trucking companies don't care about administrative suspensions that don't last for more than 30 days. Disclose it, have everything in order before orientation, and then start your new career. Simple enough don't over think it

Sounds like swift has all the info they need or they would have had you speak with their security team. I think you are ok rizob. If you still aren't positive, call swift and ask them

That's what I figure too amiller. I'm just worried that the vagueness of the DMV report might make them want more paperwork on the issue. Especially because the recruiter asked me about it. Will they really believe my word that it was because of a dispute between my ex and I over a furniture bill we had together or will they expect documentation to prove that. I guess there is really only one way to find out for sure. Go to orientation. But it would not be fun to leave my $20 hr job with benefits to follow my dream only to be sent home with no job for something stupid.
I think my main plan is to hold off a bit until I have enough money saved to pay my bills until I find another job if something does happen. And make sure I have enough for a ride home. That seems like my best option. Always better to be safe than sorry. -
Wait a minute you're planning on leaving a $20 hourly job to start driving for swift? It's your life but you will be fine. There are wannabes with more crap on their backgrounds and mvr then you and some of them will be just fine too. From my experience last year when I was looking for trucking jobs I had several administrative suspensions for expired registration, insurance lapses, etc. Then I had suspensions for points. None of the companies cared about the administrative ones but the ones for points were a huge deal. Again you don't have anything to worry about well besides downgrading and budgeting since you're leaving a good job for a bad one

I knew I would get a comment about leaving a $20 hr job.lol I'm a plumber and really tired of coming home with other people's crap on me. Plus it's always been my dream to be a trucker. I know I'm crazy but I can't help myself. I just can't see myself down in a ditch covered with dirt and crap when I'm 65. There's no way I'll make it that long in plumbing. Money is not a huge issue for me right now. I'm single, no kids and no house. So now would be the best time for me to get my training over.

If I were young and single with no kids and no house I would get into trucking. If you are up for it then live out of the truck, cut the expenses to the bone, and bank the balance. Many a trucker has done that and been able to purchase their own truck or buy a home without resorting to financing. Good luck to you.
