Probably best to find out what can exclude you and what the law is regarding such things before you go that way you know what you have to reveal and what you can keep to yourself. I know they can't make you reveal medical history from years and years ago if it has no relation on your health today or your ability to do the job.

it happens in every business. i was hired for a new design position, quit my old pos, left fl for wi and on the way up, got an email stating they may have to rescind the offer because they were unable to verify my previous employments. took two weeks of me sending them tax documents and prev pay stubs to verify. apparently their third party service wasn't able to get all the info. wound up working out but was a major PIA.

Employment history is another thing I worry about. I haven't had any gaps but my last boss said one time that he doesn't give references. He's one of those people that only cares about himself. I do have tax documents and most of my pay stubs so I will definitely take them with me and hopefully that will be enough.

I have to say it's a lot easier to get a job as a plumber. You could tell them almost anything and I've never had anyone check anything. They just put you to work and if you can do the job your in. But I do understand why trucking companies are a lot more strict.

As long as you have tax records, you should be OK. When I started driving, I had to supply tax records for a couple of places I worked... engineering firms that went under after 9/11.

you could be in for a challenge. Like I said I wound up referring to tax documents, without those I was SOL. What about bank records of deposits? yeah not paying taxes is nice when you're doing it, but it can bite you in the end.

Swift will hire you. I had something similar happen. I had an administrative suspension on my license relating to a ticket I received in 2/12. Swift was willing to look past it because in no way was it due to a moving violation. I was hired last October after completing their school. Ofcourse I was fired last December, but thats a whole different story. Good luck!!

Kind of a long story….. I was in the Lancaster ,TX yard and I took a turn too sharp clipping a stationary tractor. There were some other factors involved, bad training advice, but I've moved on. They terminated me on 12/18 for damage to equipment. Funny thing is I had to call them to get the news, no one from Swift ever called me to let me know I was terminated.
