Str8, did you have to give supporting documents to them at orientation? I'm just worried because the mvr has a vauge description of what happened. It just says failure to make court ordered payments. I don't have anything stating what those payments were for. And the Court was no help in getting any copies. I just don't want them to think I got arrested or something and want more proof. Of course my criminal record is clean so hopefully they will be OK with that. I wish I kept some of the paperwork to show them. It would make leaving my job less scary.

Str8, are you driving for someone else now?

No I didn't even think to bring any supporting documents with me. My Recruiter, Paul btw, looked it over and told me it would not be a problem. I won't lie, I was nervous during the orientation, kept thinking one of those ladies was gonna yank me out and send me packing!! Never happened though.

No I'm not driving right now. Working here in Savannah for a bit. I have been filling out on line applications and calling other companies. It's very difficult to catch on with no solo OTR experience in addition to being terminated by Swift. My one piece of advice, if you make it as far as going out with a trainer, I don't care how long it takes make sure you get one who will actually train you. The minute you see things going sideways be assertive and have them make a correction, or fire that trainer.

Well going to a mass orientation with 40 wannabe super truckers doesn't sound like a company that I would want to work for. I guess I have to admit I did do it once and worked for them for a few years. now I enjoy working 10-12 hour days 4 days a week home every night. I do have respect for the OTR driver because the effort it takes to work everyday for weeks at a time and when they have a a day or two of home time its never enough. I see the new drivers all the time at the receivers and I always wonder how long they will last and was this what they thought it was going to be.
