Yes sir between 18 and 21 you must have a letter stating that you are guaranteed a job

I don't know what the age requirement is at Watkins Shepard but call them and ask. You don't wanna go to a company school if you can avoid it because you are stuck there for at least a year to pay for school or the tuition reimbursement they gave you. And if you are miserable it's gonna be a long year. If I was you I would find a way to get in on that grant. Somebody will give you a hire letter. Just do your research there are some very good companies in our area that are good companies to work for. McElroy is another if you wanna do flatbed work. Keep in mind though that don't know their age requirements. The thing with Watkins is they are self insured so they are a little more lenient than most companies. Be worth a shot for sure.

I talked to mcelroy they wont give me a pre hire letter. I have emailed watkins Shepherd about possibly getting a pre hire letter. I can't find many companies that do pre hire letters except schneider and my community college won't accept them because its not a guaranteed job

Just so nothing surprises you, Schneider does own Watkins Shepard but they operate separately. Which means you don't work for Schneider but I know someone is gonna post it here so no surprises for you. Watkins hires it own and operates on its own. Just Schneider is the money backing it. So you should be able to get one.

My community college will allow me in without having a pre hire letter was a mistake on there part
SHOJim Thanks this. -
SNI does train? They do a three week program with one week OTR (might last longer if you have any issues). Where did you hear they don't train?
Really comes down to what routes you want to run and whether or not you want to team drive while training or have an instructor with you (like SNI) the whole time. Team driving will have you driving by yourself while the trainer sleeps. -
Sni? Im afraid I don't remember looking at them

Schneider hires cdl grads but they won't train you for your cdl

Oh that's right. Yeah I think there is only Swift, Jim Palmer, Prime, CR England. Companies like that.
