Britton Transport allowed me to use my physical when I went there. I think they like you to have at least 6 months on it. That said even if you do get a new one I don't think they care where you go. They will reimburse you for it when you do it.

Most companies want you to use their doctor. That way they can prove to DOT that you passed legally. Otherwise get your own truck and do what you want to do.

Alot of it depends on their insurance company and what they want.

The only thing I don't agree with is having to do it on site with them. Send me to a clinic of your choice in my hometown. DOT physicals can be stressful and traveling across the country to complete one does not help. I do mine early in the morning after a very light meal with an appointment so I am not sitting around for 4 hours.

I don’t know I would shop for a job based on where I get a dot physical but I do get the argument of having to go to their dr of choice

I have only been with 3 companies and all of them accepted my dot card from wherever I got it from and that went for renewals as well

I’m an O/O but doubt that would make any difference

or so they can get a kick back from their doctor for failing you and send you for all kinds of tests out of your own pocket….

Six years ago I did some holiday driving for the USPS. At the interview, I told them I had a valid 2 year DOT exam card. They said that all new employees are required to have a physcial. Some physical. I didn't have to get undressed. The "examiner" listened to my heart for about ten seconds and had to set the record for taking a BP. I was out of there in fifteen minutes. So Jimbo33, face that stethoscope and see how serious they are.
