Companies that only run the great plains?

I've only done OTR. three years worth, and I've also been out of trucking now for three years. I saw the whole country doing OTR. All reefer and dry van work.

At this point if I were to go back to trucking, I think I'd only want to drive in the great plains: manitoba, the dakotas, nebraska, kansas.
The first company I worked for was based out of Grand Forks, ND but they pretty much always went out from there to the east, passing through Minneapolis and Chicago almost every week. No thanks.

I liked driving the Dakotas whenever I did though.

Do you think there are any regional gigs that drive there that pay nicely?

Check out the "Midwest Fleet" on the following page--ask them where this fleet runs:

Midwest Direct Transport | Coopersville | Transport Companies (mdtransport.us)

It could well be that most of their midwest running areas don't take you in/out of Michigan (or....maybe it just depends on the account in question).

Your spouse could get her CDL with them, as well (if she doesn't already have it)....:

    411 CDL Training | Coopersville | Midwest Companies (mdtransport.us)

Don't know if they do any teams....you'll have to "inquire within" about that.

If it were me--I would zero in on their food-grade tanker positions.

Go tanker (if you haven't already) -- it's just a better all-around gig.

Ruan or Cardinal has regional in both home daily and weekly, depending on where you call home.

Why do you say tanker is better all-around?
A while ago I think I saw a youtuber from the milk tanker company you mentioned. He was talking about how he came under ag exemption, and they would run the piss out of him. I'm all for making money, but I'd rather not work beyond the 14th hour ever.

    See my responses above....in red.

SPECIAL NOTE: Depending on the material you find--the info available on the internet can easily spook/talk you out of ANY job (whether it's genuinely worth having--or not). If I had taken their advice--there were/are plenty of naysayers with postings/videos here and there that would have easily talked me out of working for Schneider. If I had taken their advice at face value--where would I be now?

I have a "short list" of carriers which I maintain...that have NO negative reviews/online feedback. If I shared this list with you--would you in turn sign up/drive for any of them? o_O

You can try FCCs midwest division and just never go home but they run as far east to Chicago

I don't know. It's pretty hard to beat dry van. Most loads I was in and out in less than an hour. Minimal layovers. Customers were pretty decent. Could be just who I drove for at the time though. Who knows. Only reason I'm considering something else right now is due to the economic depression. Got to think outside the box.

Most tanker companies do not run you to 69.99 hours per week. Most tanker companies are more safety conscious than typical dry/reefer companies. Customers treat you better in tanker. Maybe milk customers are the exception. I imagine picking up from small dairy farms is probably different than a typical tanker customer. Every tanker driver I know eventually says "I wish I had switched to tanker sooner."
