Let me guess before @MBAngel answers; log "sleeper berth."

If he doesn't drive, he doesn't need 10 hours off. Hos rules only apply if you drive. He just happened to have hours available those 2 times I mentioned so he could get us to the next safe place.

Covenant is a stickler for correct logs. You get caught fudging logs, they haul you back to tennesee and read you the book and make you take a class.

I work for FFE and team with my husband. We work linehaul. If you have your CDL and no experience FFE trains you separately for 6 weeks. If you have driving experience then it is just a refresher for a couple of days to make sure you know what you are doing.

As a linehaul driver we drive OTR and go visit our adult children on average every 6 to 8 weeks. Sometimes we are out for 12. We have done home time in different cities and states without any problems. As long as there is a terminal close by and two weeks notice is all we have to give.

Just be aware that miles do not equal dollars. Some places accessorial pay makes the money, while others pay more for less miles than some do for more. Any reason you want to do the hobo trucker thing?

I'm wondering if the op is a troll or not.

But I can't imagine a trainer anywhere taking on a husband and wife together.

They do it at a couple of companies because they value husband and wife teams. From my experience, training together made us a very effective team. Our trainer preferred couples. So, like I say, this industry has a flavor for every taste.

I know 3 companies that do that. Schneider, Covenant, CR England.

I have actually seen it with CR England. Well it was 3 fellas in the truck. Talk about turning some miles. The trainer was leasing with them.and he had 2 students. It's the only way he'd make any money he said

    Greg0692 Thanks this.

Thank you! Yeah, we've seen many companies which do allow a new team to work together after training separately, and it seems that there were 8-10 companies over the years which would do it, but now it just seems that Covenant and Schneider are the only remaining two.

    Chinatown Thanks this.
