Yeah I tried that with the mini they can only see as much data as I can. Its marketed as a temporary travel solution not an every day device so it’s recording is limited. Which is useless for us as we are required to have a year.
Airsense 10 has been great though no complaints there.

You can buy them online, a as lot cheaper than going to the doctor. Even comes with setup instructions. I use a crap and have never had a sleep study. I buy all things for my cpap online.

How did you determine you had OSA without a sleep study? Guessing you just use an autoset range like 4-20 and let it do its thing? How are you showing that you are compliant with something you never had prescribed by a Dr?

I had symptoms of sleep apnea, I just kept changing the range I needed until I got a good nights sleep. I download the SD card and have never had an issue in 15+ years. Regular doctors don’t give a #### as long as you show your using the machine. I took action before all the cpap ######## came about. It isn’t complicated but then again I don’t drive for a heavy handed #### box fleet.

To be honest we our company does not offer any home sleep tests. I can tell you I do see a lot of home sleep tests come from providers and most insurances cover them (if your deductible has been met) I think that if you do not have insurance, or do not want to go through insurance they are a great idea. For $150 you can get a sleep study and if I understand it correctly a prescription for a Cpap and supplies. Only drawback is if you are having pressure issues or something how easy is it to get them to write another rx?

As far as Inspire goes I have read up on it a bit because we do get PTs who ask about it. From what I understand the device gets implanted but not "activated" for 30-60 days to allow for time to heal. Once its activated then you can use it. The idea of it that instead of forcing air into you, it gives the muscles in your airway a gentle "shock" to make them open. It does it throughout the night. What I do not know about is how they monitor it to make sure its working , how long it will last, etc

The Veterans Administration has authority to use Inspire on military veterans and it's FDA Approved also.

I knew it had FDA approval. We do not deal with VA but we do deal with Active Duty and Retired via Tricare. VA is very difficult to deal with to be honest LOL.

I did do a sleep study because I thought I probably had it. Got the RX and got the machine. Fought with it for a year. AHI stayed between 7 ans 10. The high pressure made it hard to get a mask to seal. They had my 90% ipap and epap set at 25. Finally went into the clinicians settings and made several adjustments myself over about a month or so. And now I get good sleep and AHI stays below 3 and usually less. I will not get another sleep study done there again.

That is why I didn’t do a sleep study, they just want to sell products and keep you coming back to spend more money. I trust no doctor they are just pill pushers and or devices. My mother retired as Nurse practitioner after 30 years. Unless I am in very serious need doctors can shove it.
