if u want to know who is around ur children @ school or day care; why don't u go stand beside ur child @ all times when they're there. that is the most ridiculous thing anyone could say about someone who's trying to get a 2nd chance @ life. if u have no skeletons in ur closet so be it but remember this, WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES

 

I got hired on at Swift in '11 even though I had a violent felony on my record committed in '03. I guess it all depends on when they start counting the time: when it was committed, when you were sentenced, when the sentence was completed. Lots of companies go by when the sentence was completed.

Also, I might add that Wisconsin has a law called the Wisconsin Fair Employment Law which disallows employers from discriminating against felons. I noticed that Raoul Transport stated that their felony policy is 7-years...well I applied there and they denied my application based on my felony. I filed a motion with the state of Wisconsin - they're based out of Wisconsin - and it didn't take too long. Maybe 4-months, I won, and I was offered a job, but I was already working for better pay. Not in trucking. That was just an option at the time, halted by a problem I had with my license in Cali that I would learn about while attending the Swift school in San Antonio. I found the job I was at in Iowa en route to Wisconsin via Texas.

Now I am currently trying to get back in trucking. Currently in trucking school instead of going through a company. Maybe just to get into the oil field, but mostly just to get to Colorado.

 

So what youre saying is...We should allow all people who used to steal,rape,murder,and consistently drink and have a record of past DUIs behind a 18 wheeled semi that's literally a rolling missle going down the road and the driver as its guiding system?..Ok maybe its me? but that makes perfectly great sense!!!(sarcastically speaking in tone)
I can understand maybe a few speeding tickets when you were a kid then yeah maybe give the guy or girl a chance..depending on how long ago it was..But with Felony records? Im sorry to all the people whose screwed up their lives in the past royally but I wouldn't hire anyone with a Felony conviction...and that's not being discriminative..Thats just being Cautious on character past relations..So whoever tries to sue a company for discriminative on this part...know that all laws have a clause that contradicts itself..and you better have yourself a very good attorney if youre going to attack a big company..just some people are fortunate than others on that as well...

Im going to tell you once more time. It is against the Law to Discriminate get it right now. Everyone is entitled to a second chance at life. Stop hating get a life.....
