If this is in the wrong section, I am terribly sorry. Currently I had my CDL A for many years, but in 2004 I went to school from swift and went otr for about a year. Now the year is 2012 and I haven't drove since. And I need to get back in the game. The only company I saw was CR England and I heard all the horror stories. I want to know if there is a company with a good reputation with a refresher course available. I am currently unemployed so I need a job bad. And a google search didn't help because the first link was for CR England! Any help is greatly appreciated.
Companies with refresher course available?

I think Heartland Express offers such a program but I don't know anything about, saw it once on here but that was a long time ago.Give them a look and see if they still do.Good luck.

Have you done any driving in the last 8 years? The only reason I ask is 8 years is a long time and you may end up having to go thru the whole thing again even if you still hold a CDL..

Sage will give you a discounted rate for a refresher course. That might give you more options than being tied to one carrier. There was a guy in my CDL class with a current CDL 4 years ago. He had a job but needed the course for insurance. After doing the class the job fell through but Sage had a job placement service and they found him a better one. I think it lasted a week and cost him around $400.

I am going with Schneider. They wanted me to do a refresher so I went to a community college a couple hours away for a week. Schneider will in turn pay me back the money I had to pay for it. $150 a month until it is paid off.
