Hey all, thanks for checking my thread.
I'm near Gainesville, MO (2 hrs from Springfield, MO, 4 hrs from Little Rock, AR).
Coming from a 14 yr run as a data analyst (meaning no trucking experience, but also no traffic or drug issues).
I am hesitant to say need, so I'll say I would really prefer being home weekly (doesn't have to be the weekend).
I have applications started for Maverick flatbed (first choice) and Wilson Logistics. I haven't spoken to a recruiter for either yet though.
I will let them know I am willing to tough it out and drive for up to 6 hours a day (just seeing if you were actually reading what I'm putting here).
I am not opposed to paid cdl training, or private cdl school, though I am leaning towards the latter if neither of the 2 companies I applied to will send me. I have briefly spoken to a recruiter from 160 Driving Academy in Springfield.
I am also looking at TMC, Ozark Motor Lines, and TrailLiner. For any of these I would do private school.
I have a DOT physical tomorrow and I have been studying for the permit (Wilson wants this before any training).
I am looking to start training (paid or private) around the beginning of August. Will see how that timeline goes.
Any other companies that might work for me? @Chinatown
Any other info you need from me to help?
Thanks all.
