    He stopped and checked.

I remember talking to a driver who told me about a bridge in upstate New york depicting low clearance warnings but was well over the minimum height to get a truck under it. Someone called out on the CB letting him know the bridge was low only when it has train on top.

In this particular case, do you think the passing amtrak trains had something to do with the height of the bridge?

Ok, Ok, I'm a CDL student and therefore don't know anything about "trucking". That being said, I've been revolving on this orb for a number of years and I must say, Nye, your story was badly written to the point of being laughable. BTW, what makes you think we'd care who you your employer is to the extent we'd wanna go back and dig through your personal essay mess for clues? So a poor sap ran his rig into a low bridge and you feel for him. It's good you feel for him yet please, if you want to submit a personal essay please do so online at PersonalEssay.crappyspell or WhoGivesARatsAss.grammargoof.

Isn't there a blog location at this site for aspiring yet unskilled writers? C'mon dude, really?

I know, mean and to the point but i haven't had my coffee yet. After I drink a cup or three I might come back to see if anyone wanted to poke at me for being so "direct", for being an arse.

Thanks for the links, and thanks for that comment hitting the nail...
Do you think any of us could live to see a day pro drivers in accord protected their interests?

All comments were valid; but most were general thus falling short of specifics.

After going through the link, I wonder if the trains above were derailed resulting to an immensely substantial catastrophic amount of casualties (try to picture the worst here), will the employer/employee assume "personal responsiblities" arguing that their driver was at fault; neglecting safety rules and preventive measures. Proceeding with reprimands or even terminating the driver (driver wont have to go to jail since the local authorities did not cite him nor did he violate any dot provision), then goes that extra distance in making everyone else and families suffering from the ordeal whole? OR will the employer save itself legal headaches by simply pointing out the link you posted?

Since you emphatically pointed out the R word. Is it a safe assumption you implied the driver was "rammed" in the rear by the people he worked for?

    Thank you.:biggrin_25514:

Sounds to me like someone took down the signs and was maybe lurking and waiting for just this kind of thing to happen.

Especially since you said there was a yard right there to pull into. Lot's of truck traffic and plenty of sorry idiots that get off on other peoples misery.

Kinda like the idiots that sit in the truckstop and watch newbies back into other trucks without helping the driver back in.

Sick arse bored idiots. They are out there!

    I feel your pain.

I even wish I knew one. You would have been very much assured the driver would have been protected.

Trying to load the pics but my scanner isn't acting right...but i promise, you will have it by the end of the day my friend. And when that happens, I will neither need a kingdom nor a horse, all I ask is for a 5 dollar foot long at the truck stop.
