To all of you company drivers; Do you have a list of medications/drugs from your company, like this one - http://www.pumpkindriver.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=000035 that you could share? I found this while researching a prescription medication I take and I think it would extremely helpful to myself and anyone else having the same question.

    Thanks!

You need the DOT disallowed drugs list. I find it interesting that the DOT has ruled that you may not take Chantrix but Schnieder doesn't mention that drug being banned.

It does not much matter what the DOT list is if a company is expanding and going beyond that list to disqualify employees by policy. So, if a person is taking a prescribed medication that the DOT does not frown upon, but a company does, then it is a waste of time for the applicant as well as the company. That is the motivation for my question, it may save some headache and some heartache.

Is there a list of prohibited drugs for being medically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV)?

    Section 391.41(b)(12)(i)&(ii) state:
(12)(i) Does not use any drug or substance identified in 21 CFR 1308.11 Schedule I, an amphetamine, a narcotic, or other habit-forming drug.
(ii) Does not use any non-Schedule I drug or substance that is identified in the other Schedules in 21 part 1308 except when the use is prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner, as defined in § 382.107, who is familiar with the driver's medical history and has advised the driver that the substance will not adversely affect the driver's ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
Medical Examiners are required to give careful consideration to the effects of medications on a driver’s ability to operate a CMV safely before rendering the driver qualified.

DOT taking a page out of the ATF's playbook... bureau against all things fun...
