Calex Logistics, Pittston, Pa. Why? Home time. I will have made a little over $52k and am home just about every weekend. Unless I decide to go to California. For what I get paid I don't need to run 4000 miles per week and be gone weeks on end. Another big factor is they aren't a training company and don't have a recruiting department. Plus we are based in Northeast Pa and run a huge amount of NYC, Boston and the rest of that area which keeps alot of drivers from not hiring on so we only am able to hire experienced drivers from these areas.

I drive for Maverick. Did a lot of research and a lot of encouraging from No Tarps on this forum. Got home every weekend except for two this year. .41 a mile loaded and mt.
Got home the two times I requested it. Got home for an emergency.
They dead headed me over 400 miles last week to get me home for Christmas.
I am very happy and feel blessed to have got on here. -

Came back to trucking after a 3 1/2 year hiatus. They gave me the chance to come back to the industry if I could pass a road test. I've stayed because the miles have been decent, the people I work directly with have been good, and overall it's worked well for me. -

Took me on straight out of CDL school. I've gotten to do flatbed, TCU, dry van, OTR, 48 state, regional, and several dedicated accounts all without having to jump ship.
The rider policy, health coverage, and 401k all work great for me too, being that I'm only 21 and they're all very flexible.
29cpm deadhead and loaded isn't fantastic, but at 3000+ miles per week, its manageable.
They're giving me the experience I need to walk into. Smaller outfit and have a shadow of a chance of working out something that can work around my school schedule without being red-flagged as a massive liability before I even get my foot in the door.JustSonny Thanks this. -
