You absolutely get more as a Owner Operator if you dont that's on you. I'm not talking about guys leasing trucks from the company they pull for, those arent owner Operators anyhow.
Company drivers, would you haul hazmat for just your normal mileage pay?

Off topic, a past vacation was made perfect by Canadian Border control officers. I left that crossing wondering if we were being pranked and would be on some crazy TV show. lol -
What do you mean you wouldn't let them know? They have a copy of your drivers license don't they? They know.LoSt_AgAiN, SteerTire and buddyd157 Thank this. -
but on the rare once or twice a year that i personally haul it, it all fits in a shoe sized box.

They are aware of it. But choose to ignore it until after the first. Long story, no time -
I would not pull hazmat for them if they didn't pay some type of bonus for it. Two exceptions. One would be an LTL freight company as that is just part of the job with them. The other would be if the majority of the company's freight was hazmat and they had a good enough base pay (cpm) to cover any hazmat pay.
But working for a general OTR company and not offering any incentive for a hazmat load? I think not. Hazmat loads are not difficult by any means, but it is more responsibility than a normal load. Sometimes you have to take bypass routes due to hazmat for major cities and tunnels. You also have more attention from troopers when your placarded. Your going a step above to maintain a hazmat endorsement, there is no way I'm not getting compensated for that. -
