I’ve learned in coming up on four years out here, even when you do put on the Superman cape and do the hero thing running a virtual impossible load and getting it there on time? It’s very short-lived. You really don’t get anything extra for it and it’s completely forgotten by dispatch once you do it. But what you do become? Is the sucker that they can dump bad loads on if you don’t stand up for yourself. But like others have said, I guess we’re supposed to try to stand up for ourselves in a professional manner. Lol reality is they just don’t like rejection. They look at computer screens all day and you become a statistic and a number and a time slot. All elements of being a human are gone from their position. And I can’t say I blame them, we probably all will end up being the same way. But total disregard I won’t tolerate.

Having a dispatcher/coordinator/planner, that was a former driver and small fleet owner, has proven to be priceless for me.

The wisdom acquired from his "been there and done that" experience makes for a perfectly productive team.

I consider myself blessed to have such a mature and seasoned Ally.

Like most drivers, I've had my fair share of dealing with: incompetent, ill-equipped, inexperienced, powerless, dishonest, and/or uncooperative operations personnel through the years.

Good ones are hard to come by.

What's wrong with "being the sucker they can dump bad loads on?" You're a trucker man. You're getting paid to run loads. It don't matter if it's a "bad load." Their paying you money to do it. The only bad load that exists is the one that you don't get paid for, or the nonexistent one that results in you sitting. Truckers have to resist the urge to not get so emotionally involved with the job itself. It's a lot of BS and it can be annoying. I completely sympathize with you. All you can do is roll your eyes, and do what you can to get it off, whether by delivery or relay to another driver. At the end of the day, as long as your money is right on Friday, that's all that matters.

I think you’re missing my key point. My bad for not explaining. I enjoy a “tight load” not talking about that. I’m talking about a “bad load” One for whatever reason the dispatcher messed up, maybe he forgot about a load, maybe it slipped between the cracks, and he has a “oh #### moment“ he’s got to get this load out right now, no way it makes the agreed upon deliver appointment. He talks uou into taking it, then makes up some crap that it’s your fault it’s late. THAT Does go on your company record by the way. At least most companies keep track of your late loads and on time percentage.

    Maybe addressed
    Didn’t read all posts
But I’m not sure any dispatcher is watching just your truck
That said. It’s probably some automatic algorithm

However it’s getting done it should be able to get a little closer to what you can actually do with a call to whoever your contact is

I didn't miss your point at all....I totally get that. My point is, as long as you're getting paid, what does it matter? This record you're talking about, it ain't like it's your license or your DAC. If they are doing nonsense like that, then it will only speed up the process of helping you find another gig. That's why I was advising to communicate in the manner that I suggested because if it's over the phone or Qualcomm, then it's a paper trail and your ### is covered.

Alright man cool. I am sure you will get a lot of "thanks" for that load. Since your not paid to "run loads," next time you're dispatched and you don't run that load, come back on here and tell me how that goes. Lol.....I appreciate the joke of the day
