How do I search for any and all DOT authorities sharing a common address and/or responsible party or entity?

I prevailed against a former employer in a claim for unpaid wages (should have been unlawful termination as well); and one of their authorities was ordered out of service more than a year ago. I am reasonably certain that they simply reassigned their trucks from that one authority into one or more of their other authorities and continued to run as normal.

My attorney needs this information to petition that the other entities be named in my judgment,

I tried that, but can only search by name or DOT number.... we need to search by address because they not only operate under different DOT numbers, but several different names as well.... If we can search by address; we hope to be able to identify the responsible individual or entity amend the judgment with.

That requires a paid search conducted by FMCSA staff. The only free search engine available requires you to know either name or DOT number.

I doubt they will use the exact same address for multiple carriers with their DOT regustration since the FMCSA prohibits masking ownership or chameleon carriers, which is what you are describing with them closing down one company and simply transferring assets.

There are search databases that have carrier information, although none of them give free results. If this is worthy of a lawsuit then it warrants spending a few dollars for research.

Carrier 411 will bring up all related addresses and phone#'s and common ownerships. Must not be much of an attorney if he can't chase down ownerships

Start with a Google search on the address, that will bring up many hits on whoever has ised that address for a business.
@wichris is absolutely correct. Find a better lawyer who is not so lazy.
