I'm seraching for the best company to go with. I know all companies have their on flaws. Anything helps as to i don't know much about any company right now. I've did a little research but you guys have helped me a lot. Better pay is good but also I don't want to be gone 4-6 weeks at a time for 2 days home time!

Talk to Chinatown and check out West Side Transport!! If you are outside a company's hiring area, apply anyway. They do make exceptions!

Getting the cdl on your own is not that easy any more. The DMV won't even give a road test until you pass the pre-trip inspection. The DMV doesn't furnish trucks for the pre-trip inspection or road test; you must provide the truck & trailer.
YouTube has videos on what's expected for the pre-trip inspection.

I'm confident in the test, pre trip, and driving. I've drove a truck on the farm pulling a hopper bottom hauling grain from the field to the producers or grain bins at the shop. I've worked on trucks whether it be changing radiators, changing tires, water pump, and hub seals. Passing any test due to it I'm 110 percent I got it down. I've read the book 2 times now. I'll be able to provide a truck and trailer when I go to do the road test. My buddy has several he will let me use. I did check out Carter Express. Seems pretty legit and straight forward. I will contact a recruiter when I get off work to tell me more about them. Is there any more companies I should check with before I jump the gun?
