This has been bothering me for a while now. As an O/O, do you need to abide by the company's policies in regards to things such as riders and pets? I've been looking through the threads trying to find something, but there is so much information out there, I finally gave up and "Cheated" if you will, and created a new post.

    Thanks in advance!

As far as passengers, I guess it is an insurance thing so they claim you have to abide by the policies. Sometimes I buy the monthly premium, sometimes...meh. If I wanted a pet in my truck it would be my decision and thats all there is to it.

Truly, that's what I thought. Granted, I'm not an O/O, but my thought was it's "My" truck and you could pretty much do as you please with it. I assumed you guys all had to pay all your own fee's anyways (insurance, IFTA, fuel, maintenance, etc.) Thanks again!

    It's truly all B/S.

But as long as you have a company sticker on your door, you have to obay the NAZI's Worthless Penny Anne Stupid Baby Rules for CHILDREN...Landstar is a perfect example of ''corprate running wild''...

The only way out is to get your own AUTH and make your own rules and follow DOT BASIC RULES...Which in fact are much more easier than POWER HUNGRY PARANOID COMPANIES RULES...Again,Landstar:biggrin_2559:

here 's the real correct answer: if u own the truck, u can do either/or. if its a company truck, then u have to go by their policy on pets, passengers on their truck u have to have a form signed by ur safety dept. if u don t then they will 'make u available to the industry' as my company will tell u at orientation, if u get caught

This is truly what I thought. It makes the most sense, but as I'm not an O/O, and I know how these companies can be, I could easily see them saying "It's my way or the Highway" even if you do own it.

Any passenger you have with you in the truck with your own insurance or the company you are leased to must be authorized by the insurance company to ride with you including a co driver.Even the DOT will fine you with an unauthorized passenger. But pets and such they are as always above the Law they simply don't give a woof woof ,meow meow about any lawmaker rules regs or enforcements they just wag their tails at all that mumbo jumbo
