    I do not know about the system to which you are refuring but People Net allows driver access to print their logs online for the most current 6 months. Any system is required to have those logs for 6 months by FMCSA regulations. And the carrier should be assisting, if not telling you, where to obtain copies of those logs. For IRS purposes you should have those logs and save them for 5 to 7 years in case you are audited personally.

    Truckers Advocate Thanks this.

    Companies are only required to retain logs and supporting documents for 6 months not three years.

    I never really thought about this issue until this thread was started.

    Interesting.

    One reason that I can think of right off the bat is that; it is your federal document with your signature on it, hence I believe; it is in fact your federal document.
    If in fact there is not any regulation supporting this, it opens the possibilities of several scenarios;
    The regulation does exist in another government agency other than DOT that (I, you, we) are not aware of.
    The government dropped the ball.
    A lobbyist persuaded the government not to have this type of regulation
    Etc.
    Etc.
    Etc.
    The list is infinite because of speculation and conjecture.

    Hey driver....... how did "false logs" get approved and filed with the carrier?

    Using EOB one must approve his log otherwise it's nothing but hot air. The approval is your electronic signature.

    Only asking....not condemming....
