You know, most people that travel for their work get an expense account and a hotel room at night. Most of us arent even allowed to sleep comfortably. What a bunch of BS...

Well said, but some on this fourm think like office personal and think drivers are scum. they do not need a/c, heat, clean water, showers, ect. and no way should they have a family and get home time to see them. they should be kissing the owners butt for giving them that kind of job. BS.:biggrin_25514:

:biggrin_2556: i see alot of that here i board and in this post, as you sign on the dotted line , you allready knew all this , or did your reserch here, for me it was no problem and i layed out my paperwork before the company and they were ok with that, for example i get there at 5pm to unload, i call up dispacth , they in turn set up reload for at 9 am next morning,, becuse its gonna take 7-9 hours too unload, i turn off truck , take key out , hand it over too the unloader , on his wall , some places make you do this anyway, and go grab a motel room, call dispacth were i was at so he could get hold of me , this system worked well for me, got a nice supper, becuse most motel had dinner in the lobby are , and depending what i wanted, for example if i went thru bumpy chicago land i grab a hot tub:biggrin_25525: but yes its all about the driver:biggrin_255: not the company being so negtive here , if your not happy driving truck , then go back too mowing lawns:biggrin_25513:

Glade to see some rich drivers that can afford a hotel room every place they go. I make very good money and my company takes care of their most inportant people other then the owner in the company. THE DRIVER ! That is the person that delivers the goods so the company gets paid. NOTE: Alot of companies and I mean ALOT., will lie their ### off to get the drivers in then shaft them. new drivers fall for it every secound of the day. No matter what you try to tell them. I am glad you have a good company to work for. As I do, remember most of the BFI`s out there will not take drivers like us, we will not take their crap. NO matter what you say you know this to be true. :biggrin_25514:

this is 2011,the company should be able to pay for ac and heat when the driver feels as though its needed... or if electricity is "needed" (computer).

i know alot of the old timers dont feel the same way and thats fine, you can rough it and "win",and be the champ by not idling unless its 20 degrees or above 90 degrees...the truth is that the company can cut costs elsewhere and im not playing games with my health, im going to be as comfortable as possible. if there arent enough loads i can guarantee my idle will be 40%+,its been 90% more than a few times...i am out on their behalf,working..whether ive been sitting all day or not.

Sleep with the windows down, crack ###### and their pimps wandering the lots. You'll be safe!
