Is there an otr company that runs really nice rigs on the west coast that also pays a good wage? I have 30 years experience and a bullet proof driving record. I've been driving mostly Oregon and Washington for a dairy company that's been kinda circling the drain for some time now so trying to line up my options for when the almost inevitable comes...
Company that runs "large-cars" and also pays well?

Well,,,used to be, the only way to drive a "large car", which I assume is Pete/KW/Western Star, was to drive OTR or haul gas. It usually paid poorly, but the incentive was the truck itself. Werner did that years ago, putting the drivers in 359 Petes. They didn't have a driver shortage then. Today, just about every truck is of "large car" status, they really are all about the same. They are all rolling apts. OTR contracts have been scarfed up by megas, who are going for max profits, hence the "Volvo/ Freightliner/IH" thing, as they get a much better deal on the "cheapies". ( Volvo probably gives a free tractor with every dozen ordered) Best bet, is a small outfit, which you may like better in the long run, and wages seem to be pretty standard across the board these days, so no real gain there. Some are out there. There's a company called Western Distributing out of DEnver, beer haulers ( what else?) and run Coors to the west coast with some beautiful rigs. Good luck,,

I’d be messaging chinatown on here
I’d be more interested in overall compensation than the kind of truck you drive.
If you have a spotless psp and MVR and plenty of experience Chinatown can hook you up with a company where you earn $90-100k a year . -
My favorite truck is the one that doesn't break down, and the left door stays closed!

I've heard Central Oregon Trucking out of Redmond is a solid company to work for. Nice late model trucks and good pay. Dry van, curtain sides and flat beds.
Before I became an O/O there was a company I applied for but I hadn't been driving long enough for them called SS Skikos. They haul wine and wine related products up and down the west coast. I've heard they're great to work for if you can get in. Based in NorCal, but they have a terminal in Oregon. They do reefer, dry van and tanker.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this. -
Assuming that large car means a straight nose Pete or suchlike, you’re asking for an employer who cuts into their profits twice, first with higher wages, then with more expensive and less economical equipment. Good luck with that!
