"....Trucking giant Swift Transportation Co. has just acquired Central Refrigerated Transportation Inc. for close to $189 million. According to the FMCSAs website, Central Refrigerated has 2,616 power units and 2,322 drivers while Swift has 15,212 power units and 14,300 drivers. The deal will make Swift the second largest refrigerated carrier in the United States....."
I have heard that CR England does hair testing and many carriers are going to hair testing.
When you fill out an application for a carrier there will be a question for if you have ever failed a drug screen. That would include working in a Wal-mart store putting merchandise on the shelf so the Central Ref job will likely show up as a fail. -
I had to go back and read this a 3rd time just to make sure I didn't imagine it... how much and how long before orientation did you smoke it up? was this before or after you decided to be a truck driver?
Not that any of it matters because if Central reported it you are pretty much screwed.
(2) Disqualifying offenses. The following offenses are disqualifying offenses:
(i) Driving a commercial motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
This shall include:
(A) Driving a commercial motor vehicle while the person's alcohol concentration is 0.04 percent or more;
(B) Driving under the influence of alcohol, as prescribed by State law; or
(C) Refusal to undergo such testing as is required by any State or jurisdiction in the enforcement of § 391.15(c)(2)(i) (A) or (B), or § 392.5(a)(2).
(ii) Driving a commercial motor vehicle under the influence of a 21 CFR 1308.11 Schedule I identified controlled substance, an amphetamine, a narcotic drug, a formulation of an amphetamine, or a derivative of a narcotic drug;
(3) Duration of disqualification(i) First offenders. A driver is disqualified for 1 year after the date of conviction or forfeiture of bond or collateral if, during the 3 years preceding that date, the driver was not convicted of, or did not forfeit bond or collateral upon a charge of an offense that would disqualify the driver under the rules of this section. Exemption. The period of disqualification is 6 months if the conviction or forfeiture of bond or collateral soley concerned the transportation or possession of substances named in paragraph (c)(2)(iii) of this section.
By trying to fake a drug test it will be flagged as refusal to test. Now seeing as you were still a prehire it gets into a grey area, but don't be surprised if some BFI says sure come on down just to get kicked out of orientation. -
so good news i called the hireright dac people gave them my name and social and they said im not in the system and i dont have a dac report. ive stopped smoking weed and im going to sign up for a school later this month or early October. i think because i was a pre hire and got caught on the first day the first hour and didnt have my cdl yet i was only disqualified no reports sent to dac. im sure im not gonna smoke again for a long time now.
