Thanks for that information. FCC is an anomaly.

What's with all the negative stuff on this thread?
    FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers
I know lots is about the customers, but that still affects the drivers.
I won't comment any more because I don't get involved in cat fights.

You know how a lot of drivers are. Many of them can't cut it out here. They could have one minor issue, and then that cause those drivers to want to defame a company. Its like, if theres an imperfection within the company, then its a bad place to work for. Those drivers never tell the full story either. It is a few gems in the dry van world out here, they just might not advertise. I'm not typically one to look at reviews, but on Google, they're getting a lot of 5 star ratings. Honestly, if Empire Express or JNJ Express out of Memphis would have taken me, I might have gone to either of them. They're both worthy of deep consideration. Both are pretty decent dry van outfits.

Because most of the loads are decent. So when you encounter something that the rest of the industry sees as normal (like grocery warehouses and lumpers) people will complain when it’s not normal for them.

You have to realize that the majority of loads there are drop and hook. For me I maybe had a couple live loads or unloads a week, and yes I viewed those as an inconvenience when I was leased there, even the fast places, because nothing beats a drop and hook.

I'll say one thing, you FCC drivers sure are fanatical. Almost cult like. ANY criticism of the company by anybody else gets immediately swarmed by FCC drivers to defend the company and half the time attack the poster themselves who criticized the company.

It kind of makes sense to see it in the official FCC thread, but wow is it really weird to see it happen in every other thread outside the official thread. It's like the drivers want to police the whole forum or something.

Imagine coming into a thread that isn't the official FCC one and swarming onto the guy (Chinatown), who takes time out of his day to give recommendations to every single driver who comes on here asking for advice, because he dared to say FCC might not be a good fit for the particular drivers situation.

It's really crazy how you all act. Cult like is the only word I can use to describe it.

I’m not leased on there anymore, I simply pointed out that his statement was incorrect and he asked me how I knew. So I stated my experience during my time there. Then he said there was a lot of complaining in the company thread when in reality it’s guys complain about things that most company drivers put up with on a normal basis, but there it’s not the norm.

Yes, he absolutely helps a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean he should get a free pass when he’s stating things he knows nothing about. In this case he said solo company drivers would get the leftover loads. And that’s false.

Came back here to say thank you to everybody who posted. I went to get the truck at the dealership, they couldn't get a solid route with Greyhound so they gave me 130 bucks to cover 210 dollar rental. I retrieved the truck then got a load back to the terminal, cleaned the truck and took a few dozen pictures of the exterior and interior. Turned in my keys, signed my resignation letter and went home.

I don't expect to be treated like a special little boy when driving truck but putting me on a Greyhound is a non-starter. They tried to do that to go get a recovery truck AND I had to go get a key made for the truck. I would probably have to take Uber back and forth, they didn't mention they would cover that. Plus, the last time I went on Greyhound a meth head was hitting his pipe in the bathroom then got into a fight with his girlfriend, we were delayed for a couple of hours. The Greyhound stops are dangerous and they said I would be delayed at one stop for hours.

Yes, I got approved for FCC and I've heard good things, I'm excited to go back to OTR, peaceful life most of the time.
