well, no other word for it...complacency. Entered the United States at Portal this go round....forgot to slide my axles...stopped in Minot last night, had breakfast in fargo...saw the scales at both truckstops, never crossed my mind"oh yeah, got to slide my axles...get to South Dakota and I remembered real fast...busted....36080....they gave me 1000 pounds, fined me $231.00 for the remaining...and scoured my logbook...I paid the fine, slid my axles, reweighed, said have a nice day, and continued mission....suckkee day but what can you do? I know i will never forget to slide the axles again....

Somebody needs to make an app for that. Beeps like crazy when you cross border until you stop for 5+ minutes in the other country and then make it stop beeping.

I paid oregon $300 for being 2500 pounds over BRIDGE weight. I was legal for all western states BUT oregon. And it was a 4axle flatbed. NO sliding axles.

    negativecold13 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

If I pick up in IL and am heading to CA, I scale and adjust for CA before I leave IL.

Do it first and you won't have a problem.

    G13Tomcat and negativecold13 Thank this.

Hey, if anything, you'll have a story to add when someone else has a brain fart and posts it up here or at the counter in the flying J Denny's. I'm glad it was a small ticket. Could have been worse. Makes for a good reminder.
