I wish you nothing but the best! As a former Navy SEAL, making excuses or blaming others just does not cut it with me! I am a Christian and a Member of SEALS For Christ as you noted, but that does not mean I will just accept anything that you say as true...we all have to be accountable for our actions.
I am glad that you found another job and I do sincerely wish you the best in all that you do!

I want to clarify something. I believe you what you have said about a driver texting while driving. That is totally unacceptable and that person should not be allowed to train for maverick. If he does it while driving his rig, he should be fired.
My issue was that you originally implied that Maverick just brings drivers in so they can get money from the government. Maverick does not qualify for that program due to their stringent requirements on who they hire.
My issue alone was your implying that that it was someone else or something else that caused you to fail, not your own actions. That and that alone was my issue with your posts. Therefore there was no reason to contact you to get the rest of the story.
Again, best of luck to you and May God Bless You and your family!

Fair enough I was asking I did not know, as far as the govt thing, Some get a tax credit if you are unemployed, a Veteran , or some other reasons, that I do not know, and Yes i wish I could have just took the test with someone just observing, What I saw while the other driver was taking the test was uncomfortable as well.
God Bless you too man, and your family, and Pray about issues like this, No one or company is bullet proof, and Like Maverick says every one out their in the 4 wheelers , you need to drive like they are your family, thats very strong and thats is the best thing I got out of it. I carry that in my heart from now on Hopefully.
Bottom line is you never know how many accidents are prevented by useful information or rules followed, only know about accidents that happen. That is what is sad. But also we do know know howmany are prevented and that is less clear but also very good.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

    ?!!
I honestly believe it to be quite difficult to fail maverick's road test if you've even remotely been paying attention. Hell, I even drug the trailer thru the grass at that same spot at the gate on the way back in.... I'm still here

:biggrin_25521: Up until I finished with driver trainer the company was great. I was gone 7 weeks total before going home after orientation, training, and driver trainer. I was told could go home for a few days with pay by transition fleet manager. Of course that did not come true. She said I was not available to come pick up truck. I sent e-mail, and left phone messages 3 days after getting home saying was ready, willing to get going. She then said nothing available yet. Conflicting answers. I was warned that her main function was to bust the student driver types cahonies. To make things miserable for them to see how much they could take. They are hiring many drivers, have full orientations each week. Of course many get sent home. They are bringing on more drivers then they have trucks for them. It is now 3 weeks after all training done still no truck. I know of two others that waited 3 & 4 weeks for trucks. One went elsewhere. Of course while waiting there is no income because you have now been turned over to operations. If you can put up with the CRAP for awhile then most drivers with them say good company. My opinion is still out while waiting. Patience running thin. Have been looking around. Have a blessed trip.

Interesting, and quite frankly the pay during training was to me, very average or below. Though I only saw the few days pay and bus tickets, But I dreaded a 7 week low pay long hours, who knows what per hour, Like I have said I felt fortunate to be not deemed Maverick material. Good Luck and keep looking local, you may luck up like I did.

it's not Rocket Scientist level pay I suppose, but is quite fair in my opinion, Most companies training pay in considerably less if they pay you at all.
It's unfortunate you didn't make the cut at maverick, they've been very good to me so far. Maybe once your attitude improves, you'll have better luck elsewhere.

I find it hard to believe that they do not have any empty trucks. They have extended the referral bonus a couple of times to try and get them filled. There were over 300 when they started this. That is really strange that you have not your own truck.
I would contact the head of operations...I believe Dean is his name...not sure though.

If that is true, then that is really crappy on their part.

I would file for unemployment while waiting for them to "find" me a truck.

It never fails to amaze me how these outfits treat drivers like garbage.

    What a racket.

Again, I have not seen or heard of anyone else ever being treated by Maverick like this.
