Socceroo-Were you one of the ones that couldn't make it so your a sour puss now??? Maverick is a good company and stands behind their drivers. Everything they say has been true. Of course they are not perfect but no company is. They are better then most. I might be the wife of a Maverick trucker but I'm out there with him all the time and know 1st hand how they treat their employees on the road.
They bent over backwards to make sure I got a safe ride when the tow truck driver said he could only take one person. A lot of companies would have just said "call a cab, you pay"

I agree with hesgoneagain. I also might be "only the wife of a Maverick driver" (only difference between hesgoneagain and myself is that I am disabled with a passel of fur kids and fin kids so I stay at home while he is on the road - cannot take those with us if I were to travel with him!) but I can testify that he has only been away from home for 4 non-consecutive weekends since he started with them in August 2011.

You are correct socceroo, Maverick is just like any other company, they will lie to you and treat you like a dog! Just ask David, one of their trainer, or Chris.

Any time you are dealing with PEOPLE, there are going to be differences of opinions! "Every Man Is Right In His Own Mind"
I have worked at a couple Fortune 500 companies and some international companies. Small to large. All outside of the trucking industry.
None of them treated me as professional as I am treated at Maverick.
Are there individuals that rub me the wrong way from time to time? Of course there are. I am sure that I have also rubbed others the wrong way.
Trucking is a very complicated, and sometimes stressful business.
It is unlike anything that I have ever done.
I had no idea what it was like when I got into two years ago. I hear others complain on this board and in the yards and in the truck stops.
All I can tell you is that I do not have the issues that they talk about.
One of the biggest problems that I see is that too many drivers only look at it from what they want. It is always "I" "I" "I" or ME ME ME.
Never what is best for the company or for the customer.
The goal of every employee at any company should be to make that company as much money as they can. To go the extra mile for the company and the customer. When you take that attitude, you may just find that things seem to work out the best for everyone.
If others have had problems, all I can say is that I am sorry that it did not work out for them and wish them the best.
Maverick is not a one size fits all company. But it fits me just fine and I am so glad that I started here.jxu417, Flatbedder 1966, Cooper09 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well said Jim! I can only add that a majority of drivers who complain about Maverick do so to other drivers, not to their FM or anyone else in management who might be able to help. Duh! Hoe stupid is that to expect a problem to fix itself.
JimTheHut Thanks this. -
All I'll say is 90% of a drivers problem is caused by the driver.
JimTheHut and Flatbedder 1966 Thank this.
