Don't worry. You will put a plan together while in school. It is overwhelming no doubt. When you get out you will hear of other options you should have taken as far as jobs go. It seems to be the nature of the beast.

Being that you live in Ga you have a unique opportunity
you do not have to do company sponsored training
you should be able to use the "hope grant" funded by the Ga lottery.
And go to a real driving school at your local Technical College and you will owe NO Company any required time or pay for training.

junior, you should research before you speak. as someone posted Georgia has a Hope grant funded by the Georgia lottery that funds technical college programs, anyone can qualify no matter how old you are. and even without that the tech college programs in ga are very reasonably priced and are excellent programs that do excellent jobs. a much better choice than obligating yourself to someone for some """free""" training.

but then some folks like to be trapped

So as you see there are differences in opinions as to even what the best way to get trained is, let alone what company to work for. Make a list of what is important to you, pay, benefits, home time etc... Continue to do your research by searching forums like this, and go to a local truck stop and ask drivers what they think of their company. call recruiters with your questions and then slim down your choices based on the responses. The most important thing is wherever you go try to commit for at least a year and keep your record clean. There are a lot of choices out there, some of which you may not have enough information or experience to make intelligent choices on. This will come with time, don't let it overwhelm you.
