Man if they posted for that rate and sent you the rate con, I wouldn't give it another thought.

You didn't steal, or cheat, or lie. Maybe they made a mistake, maybe not, not your concern.

You made a deal, held up your end, they held up theirs.

If thats the way it works. In this case then who was responsible, for contacting who. To say we need to fix the rate, and when?
But not my business, so im just gonna sit back and watch. i dont have a pony in this show. However I have been on the other end (not to this extent) side from the OP. Was told TFB you took it at that and got paid at that.

The OP did nothing unethical. They posted the load, he accepted it, and they paid him. I say good for him, I’m happy for him. Enjoy the extra money.

What if they had posted the rate for $1900, the OP took it, then at the end they say they made a mistake and the real price for the load was $900. Should he take the $1,000 cut? The answer is no, whatever both parties agree is the price, that is what the price is. Unless the terms or conditions change, you can’t legally change the price agreed upon.

I’ve quoted jobs before for 3-4 times over what they were worth, mainly because I didn’t really have time to take them. I have gotten said jobs and made time for them because of what they paid. I got paid and didn’t have any regrets. I made the price, and they accepted it, so there is nothing underhanded about that.

Booked a ~1,500 mile legal load for $15,000 because it was going to a remote location without any expectation of a reload. Turns out there was a reload and basically got paid double.

Did not offer any reduction. Slept well. :D

    Yup. Just sit on it.
Shut up, and sit on it.

It's a corporate entity, not an individual person you know and are familiar with.... All the guys saying 'but you're screwing.....' who? A capitalistic company that has ZERO regard for you other than a means to an end where it concerns it's bottom line.... If it were a small business the OP took 10x away from - okay, maybe we could be mad about it.... I'm not tho.

If it were a Walmart load - paid 10x more than it should have - would anyone give it back?......

Business is personal. I'd deal with most any of you 1:1 and we'd get the job done. But I don't feel bad that the OP benefited from a corporate mistake. Perhaps they'll pay better attention to their business, and cut the fat from their workforce, after this faux pas.

I had a broker call me once on a 700 mile load, asked for a price. It was going somewhere I didn't want to go, and I told him so. He asked for a rate again. The DAT 14 day average at the time was $1.79/mi for the lane.

    I qouted him $4000.

He asked me to hold, and 5 minutes later sent me a rate con.

No I didn't feel the least bit bad about it.
