I would have notified them that it was wrong because it’s clearly not right and they will never pay $19,000 so might as well get it right from the start.

I’ve had situations where we have been over paid by around $2000 where there were multiple loads and some were double paid. We contacted the broker 3 seperate times with no action happening. Then, even mailed them a freakin check for the error! Here’s the crazy part, they never cashed it!

The rate confirmation is a legally binding contract. On top of that, these are billion dollar companies. This load was a drop in the bucket for them. I have done a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of uber loads. My credibility and reliability is impeccable, as I have never been late delivery a load, unless due to breakdowns or weather.
If anything, this is a learning lesson for uber freight to put the necessary precautions into place so it doesn't happen again.
By the way, I just discovered this app called "Cargo Bot" last week that connects owner operators with shippers directly. I honestly believe this is the future of trucking. Cutting out the middle man and going direct.
Retail arbitrage, me and my fiancee use to do it quite often. Back when I was a company driver at Schneider making pennies, all I use to do was scour the clearance aisles at Walmart and Target on my 10 hour break. Needless to say, I probably spent $3k and turned it into about $10k. Kept about $5k after shipping and fees. Did that over the course of 6 months.
I busted out laughing when I read this. I was just thinking earlier that the mechanics and big shops are the only business I know where you can take your truck in for a problem, they supposedly fix whatever they think is causing the problem, it doesn't actually fix the problem, and you still have to pay anyways to get your truck back. Then go 500 miles down the road, issue pops back up and have to take it to another shop and repeat.
Shops are the only place I know where you go for a $500 repair, that turns into a $2500 repair in the blink of an eye, maybe even a $5000 repair if your lucky

There's nothing wrong with that. It's a standard contract.
Move y product from Place A to B for x amount.

If they don't notice their mistake, I'd send them an invoice letting them know the shorted you by $171,000. Must've been a clerical error, someone left a zero off.

I had a couple that were a lot more than that and it was always a van load with escorts.
Not going to complain about the truck taking the load but I can tell you all what happens with these automoated crap systems, there will be a bill to the consigned will get pissed off and it will go back and forth until the right rate is calculated and the difference that the truck got will as per the contract have to given back.stayinback Thanks this. -

You know when I was laid up not one company or broker called and checked on me. Why is it stealing if it was mutual agreement. That would hold up in court. I dont care who you are, your not gonna call after the job and tell me you under paid me, are you. Not my problem if they went over budget or their employee messed up.
