Dang, I didn't realize they were doing this. You have to scan and upload all that paperwork so THEY don't have to leave the office and drive out to your place of business. SMH !!

I like that idea, I may have to cut a week short to be here for an audit but scanning would be an ideal situation.

I like uploading everything. Do not have to deal with the auditor. He emailed me and snail mailed me. They gave me 30 days to complete it. Simple

ok, that's not so bad if they give you 30 days to complete it.

I just went through a new entrant audit in November and NC has gone to the online process. I was told by our inspector that all states will be online in a few years.
Very easy uploading all the info that they ask for when they send you paperwork in the mail. Very well laid out and I sent our info in on Sunday and the inspector called and asked a few more questions and had the audit completed by Friday and emailed with results and called to let me know that everything was great and if we ever had any questions to call her anytime and even gave out personal cell phone.
As long as you you are organized and can get them what they ask for and nothing more then you should, have no problems
Like someone stated they wanted 30 days logs and all documents to go with those 30 days as well as all insurance certificates and the drug screen enrollment with drivers listed. Plus equipment list and maintenence tracking. Make sure that has the truck number and Vin for all vehicles. They did not ask for receipts for any maintenance.

Do they ask you for a certain date to date or just ask for any 30.

Most important thing to remember, even as a one truck operator you have to comply with everything the big fleets do. The area I see the most trouble with in my other business (fleet compliance solutions) is driver/owners not having a complete driver qualification file including the previous employer requests, road test form (yes, technically you do not have to road test an experienced driver but they usually ask for it), and a drug testing program in place before the truck ever moves (be sure to sign all the forms and notices even though you will be supervising yourself).

On mine it was any 30 consecutive days my choice. But it had to include an interstate trip. Which is easy cause that's all of them.

They asked for 30 days of logs that had to be within the last 6 months and like Shanman stated it had to include a interstate trip.
A good point was made that they will want a driver qualification file that has to include you driving record within the last year along with current copy of medical certificate.
