I have a vibration that I can't get rid of. Plz help.
Motor, trans, front diff rebuilt in last 2 yrs. All wheel seals and bearings replaced less 3 months, ride hight for air leaf is set 11.7 + center of rear axle to floor. Set in between drives. Motor mounts and torque bars new. Shocks 6 months ago, when kingpins, tie rods, and hangers and bushings. Blocks and bushings in rear. 3 axle alignment. All tires tested repeatedly off and on truck.
98 peterbilt 13 speed eaton and 3.70 rears. Rear pionion shaft is off center a little to driver side.
Can a 3 axle alignment affect your ujoint angles on a compound angle setup like these? Don't want to waste all this $$ by just working it to do all over again. She's almost a new truck.
Compound ujoint angle vibration?

Is the vibration when you are on the throttle? Off the throttle? Both?
-
Vibration is mostly around 57-62. But I swear I feel it lightly around 35-40. 55-65 made start with tires and wheels. Drive line was just rebuilt and still in shop now because it just become evident

Took Truck to trans, driveline, rear-end shop for a growl n trans area. After new slip yokes and u joints (caps spinning/wore) started vibration/hop. They said they checked all angles and tire guy checked tires. Alignment shop has checked alignment but still vibrates

To answer question both. Mainly 57-62.

Now is it more of a buzzing hum kinda vibration or more of a shake /hop bounce kinda thing........
I know it sounds silly but it makes a big diffrence in figuring out your problem.
Vibrations come more from driveline and engine and clutch.
Bounce or hop or shake is more tire/rim / brake drum relatedDino soar and free2fly973 Thank this. -
More of a shake hope but alignment shop said they also spun on truck, nothing. After driveline repair, this showed up and then after tires and alignment shop driveline redropped and they found 3 thousandths weldon mistake (they didn't make) and fixed and cut it down by 50%. Which still makes me believe it's still somewhere there. Maybe compound angles from rear pinion being off set from above and side view

Shop is starting to act like they are done. Can't figure it out. Just wanting to see if I can get more great minds on this to see if something is missed.
I know phase angles have to be less than 1* from top view and side view and compound angles with those have to be figured too.
Can alignment shims affect pinion angle? Wondering if that started this problem -
There is tons of information on this sight about those type problems. If you go to the top right of your screen and use the search block. Ask things like vibration, shimmy, bouncing. You can put in things like your Pete, model, speeds etc. but if you do not have replies broaden your search. Then if you have questions ask them and some people like swaan, that is really sharp, way be able to help you more. Just a suggestion to reduce duplication and I get a lot of my own questions answered that way while learning other things.
Dino soar Thanks this.
