I have been pre-hired at Con-Way truckload.
Question is...they do make runs to Canada...will I be REQUIRED to get a passport? Or will the passport card (cheaper and is used for land/sea travel only) be sufficient??? It takes 6 weeks to get either and I graduate CDL school in a month...
Advice...suggestions??

It took mine 3 weeks to get passport card depends on season , holidays ,vacation. You can pay extra for it to go faster(process).

I work in the freight division, so i don't go anywhere far, therefore do not need one... but i would just get the real passport to be safe.. It would be better to get the real deal, than to get the passport-lite version and then have them tell you it won't suffice (then you'd need to wait another 6 weeks for the good version)... and i think you need a TWIC card as well (whatever that is).
But that's just me, i would go for the legit passport.. and if no one else on here can help, try calling. -
i live in Canada...and yes you will need a passport for sure

DUI or any felony arrest in the past will stop your entry.
Contrary to the many people here, a passport CARD is valid for transit between the couintries by LAND.
If you wish to fly back because of a problem or whatever, you will need a Passport. -
As far as the 10 years goes, I believe that for 10 years you are absolutely banned from Canada, and after that you have to apply to be able to travel there. Bush had to do it when he was President before making a state visit.
