For several months I've been interested in the trucking industry, researched the differences between company driver and O/O, trucks, certain terms, lingo, etc. I've kept in touch with Con-Way and I feel getting my CDL permit and driving for them is the way to go...but I'd like to know how they are about their drivers and their firearms, does Con-Way not care? are they strict about it? or are they policy friendly based on the drivers' residency and as long as the driver complies?
I've kept in touch with Ketura she's really cool, cody eh Keturah is just awesome...any opinions, truckers?
this is my first post, hello all don't hate on me I don't now a lot of things here please be nice..thanks hope to meet new people here and learn. Thanks be safe on the road.![]()

I believe most large companies prohibit firearms being carried in their trucks. I could be wrong though. I was under the impression that carrying a firearm in a commercial vehicle is in most cases illegal. But I've never looked into it in any detail. Check with FMCSR to be sure. I have always left my firearms behind. I've always carried a blade and looked like like I would kill someone if I had to and never felt threatened before(I'm 5'6" and weigh 140 lbs. ). Keep you head up and be aware of everything around you and you'll be alright. It's a good career but be patient in the first year, it's not all long miles and smiles =)

I know with CWF all fire arms are prohibited. I however carried a knife on ne all times and pepper spray since my normal area was the worst in my county.

Yes ConWay does allow firearms however you will at some point go into Canada and you can not take one into that country. I didn't experience it but they will search your truck. We were told you can lock it in a locked locker at the border and pick it up when you return.

Its still against the law to carry a firearm over state lines.

By whose word is it illegal? Do some research, it's been beaten to death here, plenty of threads on it. You have no idea what you are talking about.
