Can someone please give me some info on the new driver road test with Con-Way freight? Met with the TM and things went well, going back for the road test. Thanks!

pre-trip and drive. pretty much it. don't hit anything or run stop lite or sign.
all barns are different, that they all are run by the TM's. most likely you will drive a worn out sterling with 7 speed trans. they suck to shift.
just keep your cool and you will do fine. -
I have a road test with them tomorrow as well.
Whats your advice on shifting the beasts -
it depends. if it's a newer sterling linehaul unit, say, 06-08, not too bad. 7 and 10 speeds. they are not shifted as much as city units.
if it's any city unit, they are really "loose". by "loose", i mean, if you put it in second gear, it feels like a 10 speed in neutral. which makes it hard to find the gate. and they hang up ALOT!!!! try to really tach them up, like to 2300 RPM. they run 7 speeds, so, a little different. you double clutch like a 10, or can float like a 10.
if it is a new cascadia, you are golden. 10 speeds in those.
the line units have fairings off the back cab corners. city units don't. you will see the difference.
