    60 minutes.

Drive as fast as you can tick tock tock

If you got a chance reach down at the lights like you usually do.

Actually I'd drive on duty back from the mall.

Get that stupid planner on the ball unless you are hoping to get layover in vain.

I don't even know the planner, or fleet manager. Just the dispatcher. Trying not to make waves and follow protocol but GONNA HAVE to talk to them. Sitting way too much in my opinion.

You get 60 minutes and when your stopped it doesnt count your time, my husband and I do that when we're down in Laredo, El Paso, West Memphis and in Sacramento when visiting my parents. In El Paso Lins Chinese Food is the place to go also the mall doesnt say anything about parking there we went an seen a movie there

Oh so you can go off duty driving, then go back to off duty when you're stopped, come back a couple hours later, then go back to off duty driving and it picks back up? That's awesome if I'm understanding you correctly. Thanks for the info by the way. I'll make notes.

    From http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/title49/section/395.8?guidance

Question 26: If a driver is permitted to use a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for personal reasons, how must the driving time be recorded?
    Guidance:
a driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work, time spent traveling from a driver’s home to his/her terminal (normal work reporting location), or from a driver’s terminal to his/her home, may be considered off-duty time. Similarly, time spent traveling short distances from a driver’s en route lodgings (such as en route terminals or motels) to restaurants in the vicinity of such lodgings may be considered off-duty time. The type of conveyance used from the terminal to the driver’s home, from the driver’s home to the terminal, or to restaurants in the vicinity of en route lodgings would not alter the situation unless the vehicle is laden. A driver may not operate a laden CMV as a personal conveyance. The driver who uses a motor carrier’s Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) for transportation home, and is subsequently called by the employing carrier and is then dispatched from home, would be on-duty from the time the driver leaves home.
A driver placed out of service for exceeding the requirements of the hours of service regulations may not drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) to any location to obtain rest.

Yes to both, also you do not have to change duty status when you stop, another we learned while waiting on a load to be ready is that you can off duty drive if you are under a load AS LONG AS you are driving in the opposite direction, we sat at a shipper in Chickasha,OK for 27 hrs and ask if we could head to Walmart and FM said as long as it was in the opposite direction.

If you ever have to go pick up a load in Big Spring,TX at Western Container you CAN NOT get loaded early. Dispatch told us last night to go ahead and head on in maybe could get it early. Not scheduled to pick up till 11pm tonight , so we got here about 1am and was told because we were going to be carrying plastic bottles they couldnt be on the trailer to long in the heat, which in a way doesnt make any sense, they want us to drive overnight (cooler weather) and sit all day in 100+ weather. Gotta try again around 6 or 7 different crew, if they say no then it looks like we'll only get 962 for this week and start next week with 1357 miles
