Couldn't have said it better, I went through the same thing with Conway truckload. One good trip a month and then sit for days waiting for a load and then the load disappears and they dead head you 500 miles and send you a message that you won't get paid for sitting 4 days because they had to dead head you so far to get a load. And thats the drivers fault? They are very rude on the phone and I have never been lied to so much from any company in 29 years of driving, save yourself drivers, this company must coach there fleet managers on how to steal.

I won't drive for them for the simple fact their trucks don't have interlocking axles, seen a couple trucks stuck in dirt parking lots lol.

I have worked for ConwayTruckload for many years. Miles are way down and nothing is done about it when you talk to your Fleet manager about only getting 8000 miles a month.
Herb is right, they have never lowered my pay but they cut my miles in half.

I dont get it. I get good miles, I get home when I want to and I live in Florida! I average over $900 a week, sometimes more sometimes less. I love my dispatcher, she takes care of me.

Is it Jerilyn, fleet 17? She's awesome, she only takes a couple of days to get me a load straight to Orlando, no matter where I'm at lol

After reading the posts on here about Con-way, it makes me feel much better about jumping shipg ship with them back in '09. I was a CFI driver, and in alot of ways we did get the short end of the stick when the merger went through.
However, from my understanding, Con-way has joined the ranks of trying to be another one of those "regional" companies. That may explain the lack of miles that some of the posts reflected, especially when you figure in e-logs. Sadly, Im thinking the only way you will get descent pay from them nowadays is if you are willing to run team for them. Just another story about a good company selling out so someone can make a dime, while throwing the drivers under the bus so to speak. Oh well, thats just my opinion.

hi i started 28 years ago 16 cents a mile and nothing has changed except for the date and year.this is why the mexican trucks are being fast tracked in to the u.s..they have given away the manufacturing. the produce and about anything else. why do you think the trucking industry is any different? look at the people who are in trucks now.this industry is all about money, stop fooling yourself!people are the cheapest commodity in the world.alot of excellent points made in previous posts by others, take what you can get at their expense. i admire you wanting a stable career and good work ethic but you need to be a realist
