Lots of lifting. They want to make sure you'd be able to help unload a trailer should you ever need to. That and they want to make sure you're not going to have a heart attack climbing in and out of your truck more than twice. LoL

No worries about not knowing much. As long as you know your stuff for your pre-trip there are plenty of drivers out here who are willing to answer any questions you might have about your truck.

Will you get a truck when you finish or will you have to wait?

Update day 2 was all paperwork and dvd's.
Day 3 we did the driving test and backing test. it is very easy to pass both of these is you know how to drive. We were not graded on our ability to shift. Then it was back to the class room for more dvd's and talking about Con-way. I am excited and ready to make some money!

Glad to hear from you again ... I was hoping you were not a "below average Trucker" ...lol
came through Jax on Tuesday but was early and I figured you would be getting your dots done...

Oh yeah. haha I don't like bragging or anything but i got a 95% on my driving test and a 100% on my backing test. I like to think I am a safety minded average driver

Anyways, I am done! a day early! We just did Smith training all day today, which was easy. I get my $75 and my bus ticket home tomorrow.

Do you get to go home before heading out with a finisher?

Oh no finisher for me. I have a year experience. But normally I would imagine that they would send you out right after orientation.

ALL DONE! I am at home now waiting on a truck. Con-way Truckload looks to be the outfit I was looking for. This will be the last time I post here until someone has a question.
