Where do they have you leave your truck on home time? (In my case, Central Florida)
What transmission's are most of their trucks?
What speed are the trucks governed at?
How many miles did you get per month your first year?
Are ALL or Almost ALL loads Truckload?
Is there much Drop and Hook?
Thanks for any replies. They are at the top of my list now.

I talked with them a few months ago so some things may have changed but I'll give it a go...
Trucks go with driver unless there is room at the local conway term, you would have to discuss that with the term manager on your own, they will get you the name and number of who to speak with. Trans are 10's, 65 mph, miles are a guess, lots of D&H and mostly full load although I have heard they are going to do some of the line haul for the ltl side too, that would only make it better in my opinion.
Hope that helps!!! They are recruiting teams big in central Fl. lately, I think that is in prep for the line haul increase.xlsdraw Thanks this. -
Okay first let me clairify Conway for you
There is Conway Freight(LTL)
and Conway Truckload(Former CFI)
Owned by the same company but 2 entirely different company's,we operate independent from each other and at times haul for the Freight side(only truckload 53's,no doubles) but the "linehaul" run is usually broke up between 3 relays(les than 500 miles) and you have to have a 10 hr break b4 you relay with another dvr so they preposition you at a pilot usually the day before(hence linehaul not very well reguarded during the week) weekend tho you can do some real good line hauls for freight1500-2000 miles
nor do we do any of there dock work
Trucks are assigned to you and are domiciled where you can "prove"to safety that it is a safe place to leave equipment, while on hometime(btw ur responsible for the mechanical side of it while home, let the batteries go dead, its your peso's to get it running again, just a FYI)
Miles? I or anyone else would be hard pressed to give you a good answer,I count on 2200-2700 a week is the norm, but with the new E-logs well the jury is still out on that figure
Yearly miles vary widely thru fleet but expect 120-135 thousand, depending how often you go home
Yes all loads are truckload yes u at times have multi-stop
D&H Varies on the shipping end would say less than 50%,on the recvn end 50% and or less
Oh one more thing, about leaving your truck at a Conway Freight terminal well you can but in central fla(are you sayn Orlando area?) okay Conway freight doesnt allow you to stay hooked to your trailer in yard,And most if not all of the yards they have in Fla are not opened on the weekend so you have to park your truck in outside parking lot(with no tralier) so your SOL if your coming back to work on a weekend) need trailer to get on Board status
Hope I havent scared you, just trying to be honest with you, good luck -
I guess I got some of the story but not all!!! Glad someone could clarify better. Guess I won't be looking into it any further since I would be hard pressed to find a safe place without paying for a secured yard.

I live about half-way between Tampa and Orlando. A little less than an hour to each.

What does hometime look like with Conway Freight? Is it the standard 1 day off for every 6 days out?
-
Conway "Truckload"- 1 day off for every 7 days your out
Hometime policy is this: you must be out(or dispatched for 10 days) before you can "Highlight for home"
"The first day of your "Highlight" does not count, and then they have 7 days to get you on a dispatch to get you home.
Time off is calculated as this,if you arrive(or dispatched to arrive prior to 0730 at your domicile) the day counts, after 0730 the next following day starts your hometime.Hometime ends prior to 0730 the day you come back on duty(note: if you go "On Board" after 0730 you are still going out but now that day will count as a day off as you failed to comply with the prior to 0730 on board time),just a FYI
The hometime here is pretty much fair,if you have a appt i have found that once you know about this make sure your Fleet MGr has this noted.
As appts at home are paramount and cant be easily changed, now they will get you home in most instances but I have found over the years to be very flexible in your time off requirements(if you have a criteria of being home say "only on the weekends" you will not be happy with the Hometime here
That being said I enjoy my hometime and have usually no problem getting home in the "week" i planned to be home.
We get paid weekly(all dispatches from midnite Sat to Midnite Sat) so as for me i stay out 3 weeks(usually the 1st 3 weeks of the calender month) and make most if not all of my needed appts for the end of the month,(thats just me,it works for me in this system) -
