Hi all, I'm wanting to pursue a career in truck driving. My plans are to get my Commercial Permit and get with a company that does CDL training. However, I'm curious about something that would be on my driving record.
In 2015 I was involved in a rear end collision which, due to the state I'm in is my fault almost regardless of circumstances. I ended up with a reckless driving citation, but I had adjudication withheld on it and only had to pay a lowered fine. I know from research that it will still appear on my record. It is my only such citation.. I have had only 2 other citations. One for speeding in 2006 (45 in a 25), and another citation around 2007 for, as the officer put it, "improper start from parked position" (I angrily squealed tires out of a parking lot).
Lots of the information I've looked thru involved people with DUI's getting the charges lowered to reckless driving, but what about my situation? .
Concern about my driving record...

Your latest one will be tough (not impossible) to overcome until it drops off, so to speak. Some carriers only go back 3 years. So, none of them would be an issue for those if you wait a few months. The 2 older ones are non-issues at this point.
Puppage Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reply. That is good news. I was curious if adjudication withheld would mean anything different, but I assumed it wouldn't because while points weren't applied to my license, the fact that it happened at all (per my record) would be something against me for the carriers.

You'll be ok for trucking.
Where is your location, so we can recommend some companies that might hire you for cdl training.Puppage Thanks this. -
My location is currently NW Florida but there is a possibility later this year or early to mid 2019 that i will be moving to Washington state, about 2 hours away from Portland, OR or 2 and a half hours away from Seattle, WA
