Just began working for conestoga logistics out of liberal KS. Left Sunday night for orientation and to pick up my trailer I'm in their regional hopper division as an owner op. I've had some problems at home my fiancé wasn't feeling well at all Sunday when I left and went to the E.R. As I was leaving for liberal. She called and informed me that she needed to have her gallbladder removed. Sent a txt to safety to let them know, got their Monday morning around 5 couldn't sleep walked in at 8 got my paperwork and drove down to the trailer shop to pick up my trailer. Met the mechanic got my truck don't laid down for a nap about 11 got woke up at noon to be taken out to lunch by safety and the company V.P. had my meal paid for. Met my dispatcher went back to the trailer shop to have the GPS installed in my truck. Talking with the mechanic i was informed if I needed anything all i had to do was ask a bail out for repairs hotel while I was in liberal, etc.
Got dispatched out Tuesday morning, I had explained to dispatch I needed to get home for her surgery they worked with me great got me home Tuesday night about 9 o clock. Never complained never thought twice I have a record of all the txt messages and screen shots of what has been said they really do genuinely care about their drivers and o/os. I'm sitting in the waiting room as I'm typing this waiting for her to get out of surgery and have been talking to dispatch about a load out for tomorrow going to Blackwell ok to dump monday, out of the goodness of their heart they're putting my sign on bonus on my first check to help out with the bills back home. This is the FIRST company I can say I have worked with that will do anything to help the drivers if they can.
I also received a txt from the safety director a little bit ago he again said if there's anything they can do to let them know. Both dispatch and safety have requested updates to how she is doing when she gets out of surgery I cannot say how impressed and family oriented they are. It's very refreshing to see people who care about drivers and their families.
Also before heading to the truckstop Monday night I spoke with the V.P. of the company before leaving the trailer shop. I was still upset with finding out my fiancé needed her gallbladder removed especially under the circumstances and what happened with the call (personal) he told me not to worry they'd get me home, said if there was anything he could do to help out to let him know and he would make it happen. These people and this company is flat out amazing if you ask me. I can't say how many miles I'll run a week but will be sure to update. Avg. Is 2500 miles a week and 5000-5500 gross. 80% of 100% I'm on their plate ins. Etc. Dispatch via gps install is free. They offered a sign on Bonus not sure how it's paid out normally. Fleet one fuel card with an $800/day limit if more is needed they can call also can be used for supplies for the truck at $50/day deducted from your settlement. Can be used for repairs as well if needed on the road during an emergency.
Talking with them they're looking for one regional hopper driver NE, KS, OK, TX, AR, NM, IA, CO. Rates are good from what I have seen so far about 2.00/running mile 1.60/after percentage and insurance was cheap only cost me $250/month $105 or so of that was physical damage.
They're a great company I've gotten along with everybody there just fine and they want to know how to make the company better for the drivers if there's anything they can do they want to know and I'm about 99% sure they'd make good on any requests. This has gotten pretty long any questions let me know and I'll see what I can find out they're currently still looking for one regional O/O for the hopper division.
