Yeah they dig a batch of east coast blowhards out of drifts taller than their truck most every year because they get stuck without chains. Keep on believing what you want...

It is NEVER a surprise that the snow is falling, and road is slick, for anyone with some intelligence... the others deserve to be left in the snow drifts until spring.

If the weather is that bad for chains required. Park and wait it out..
That's why I love heavy haul.. Chain law on, we sit.. Rules are rules..
I'll be nice and warm sitting while the gotta go dispatchers tell the guppies you gotta run.
Not this fat man....tsavory Thanks this. -
Running New England, the only chains that I've ever seen were on truckers' wallets

We run from the east to Denver and then north up to Ft Collins. chains are not required and the company policy is, if you need chains...its time to park. I asked about this several times cause I see a chain up area on 70 and on 25. But we never go west of 25....
I have been thinking about buying my own set of chains just for my own peice of mind....or a set of those wheel socks.....Last edited: Nov 11, 2014

Chains are for getting out of trouble, not driving into it. I had to use them in Dallas last year to get to a truck stop. Then we sat for a few days.
Its a good idea to have them, and know how to use them. You never know when you might need them, laws or not.
CRST is anti-chain. They prefer you just park it.ethos Thanks this. -
