    Hi all
Just wanted to get some input on your experiences with the DOT guys and girls out there. I am lucky that I dont get pulled in alot and if I do its usually for a silly reason. But back to my question. Often when I get stopped I will intentionally ask a question i know the answer to just to get to see what this officer will say the rule is. For instance on log books. I seem to get different info on how to fill one out. I know how to do it and never been cited for anything on it but these officeres will try to tell me different ways of doing it. So has anyone else found this to be annoying and really it makes law enforcement look really really bad.

They all have there own interpertation of the law, for instance got pulled over in NY for a dot check had a loader on and had it cross chained cop told me cross chaining was no good and it reduced the working load limit of the chains by half, bin pulled over since and ask every dot cop the same question about chaining and all so far have said cross chaining is fine so go figure.

Thats what I mean to. I actually went through a weigh station years ago and got told to cross my chains on a excavator. After he showed me how to do it and told me why to do it like that it made since and thats how I do it. So this is one example of confusing info from DOT officers. I am sure there is a never ending list but its funny to hear what people have been told by the people who are suppose to keep us safe.

The D Rings on that lowboy I used to pull...NEVER seemed to line up with where I had to chain a machine.
