Lol I'm putting off walking in to the grocery store. I'm ALSO a Schneider vet, and I don't appreciate the sass. (I don't actually care, I just wanted to sound STERN.)
Time to get my ribeye.![]()

The other suggested strategy is to pick the carrier(s) that, as a new driver, for whom they'd like to drive.
Then research which CDL school(s) from which they like/prefer to hire (visit company websites & look for preferred CDL school lists there, and/or call each company directly).
The thinking described above is kinda like finding a bride first....then find the right church (instead of the other way around).

CDL School first usually requires money upfront though, haha. I wasn't a veteran nor unemployed, so I would had had to pay for it with money I didn't have.

The (other) big advantage with a community college/tech school CDL--after you graduate, you then move on to a job market that is a totally level playing field.
You, as a new CDL holder--are not obligated to any particular carrier for a-n-y-thing.
The only real "problem" I see with keeping such a mega-carrier starter list is that someone would have to babysit said list on some level, to keep it updated and accurate.
For example: I read somewhere here on the Forum just recently....that Schneider had stopped taking all/most new CDL students--and was now (at least, as of the time of this writing) only hiring people who already had a CDL.

Oh yeah, I left out CR England, CRST, Pam, and Western Express. I had them on another "do not recommend" list after reading too many bad stories about them, but they do train new CDL holders, so I should have technically included them.
Yeah, I can see maintaining a list would be annoying with all the changes that keep happening. Apparently Walmart just added a "Development Fleet Academy" but they only have three locations I'm aware of and literally no details listed anywhere that I've been able to find (paid lodging or travel? paid training? length? driving commitment?" so I wouldn't include them on any list until there's more verifiable information available somewhere.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
I mean..."no."
