You did realize before you became a truck driver, that you'd be sitting by yourself all day, every day driving down the interstate highway....didn't you??? :biggrin_25521:

You must not have done enough homework. Do you know what the driver turnover rate is for OTR carriers ? Did you check the size of carrier fleets in the past few years ?
For example , Werner reduced its fleet 10% last year and moved 11% less freight. So why are newbies always going to orientation at Werner ?
The same reason they are going to other BFI carrier orientation -to fill seats in trucks abandoned by other newbies.

flatt and Red Hot Mess Thank this.

For me, i enjoyed trucking, its the regulations that i could live with out, i can drive the heck out that truck, most time beating the same load , it was 2 part load, i had part 1 , they had part 2, guess who was on time, yup, me, but i always was a loner all my life, i hate crowds, i am eye of dark child, so i like too run at night and run hard, i enjoy getting up at the crack of dawn , depending on the load , if driving at night or night or both, i'm used too driving on 5 hours sleep, then i gotta go, but the most thing i miss driving is looking at all the scenery , you just cant get just looking at a regular job, seen things you can't see at a regular jobs, get free tours, like the door handels i deliverd too gm and while trl was being unload , he said jump on his golf cart , now granted the smell in this auto plant was horrible, but too see a car made in front of you is out this world, i really like wacthing that 4 story press , they take a big sheet of tin, and with a foot pedal, comes down and makes a whole side of a car, yes i enjoy trucking, but you cant see these things behind a desk, so this poster needs too get his feet wet first and then post , like id say 3 years of trucking, a year is not to just not long enuff time too post like that.:biggrin_25525:and far as pay goes, i never got rich in pay, but i got rich in the being of smells of the oranges out in ca, or walking, as i like too walk ,in differnt towns, if i go back out now, most companys now have 401 k and most have health benfits, that what i be looking at, at my present day job, i started my 401 k 6 months ago and with only 25 bucks outa my little check , thats not gonna hurt me, so after all this i bank in at 765 granted thats not much, but hey thats more then i had a few months ago, at 0 balance and if i get a trucking job this go with me.

Seriously...people with that mentality need to put out to pasture and put down :biggrin_25521: ...let the wolves have their dinner. I WANT to sit on my a__ and drive a truck, not drive a desk...I KNOW this will NOT be easy...it IS a job, but it's something that I want to do.

Being an actor in pornographic films isn't a job, it's a lifestyle...some people just can't perform on camera!
