    Hey group,
47 year old man in Columbus thinking of CDL school.
I see Roadmaster is here, its not too far from me actually, in a good neighborhood at that.
Anyone have opinions on them as a training program? From what Ive read, theyre not too highly thought of, but it IS close. Are there others nearby, that I could commute daily from?
    Thanks for any responses :)

    Yeah, probably.
Im in a postion where I can, (not rich, lol, just been saving). My only thought on that is, if you go thru the company paid route they expect a 2 year commitment, which means you HAVE a job after getting the CDL.
If I paid out of pocket and have my CDL with no experience, I would imagine I might have trouble finding work.
Most companies want about two years experience dont they?
As you can probably tell, Im completely new to this, lol

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

If you have Cdl, good driving record, and a pulse.... finding a job is no problem.

Finding the job you love might take a while

back in 2012 my local community college cdl school was 3600 for a 4 week course. I would check on something like that if you are paying for it yourself- I think my old partner was on the hook for 10K at roadmaster -

All the schools and the company programs are the same.
    Classroom is worthless.
Your drive time is useless in an empty trailer.
After you obtain the cdl learning begins.
If it takes 4 months to get a cdl..something is wrong.

Another thing I forgot to mention, I had 2 dui's, back in 1991 and '92, is that an instant no hire?
